About Passion for Pups Dog Training

Passion for Pups Training began as an idea I had when I retired as a police canine instructor. I really enjoyed what I did while training police dogs and retiring was bitter sweet. I wanted to continue to share the knowledge and experience of working with dogs I had gained over the years.

Crash Course in Dog Training

This single 1.5 hour lesson covers any minor issue you are having with your dog. For example, you love your dog and he/she is perfect except, she won’t stop barking or he digs in the yard or she jumps on us or guests etc… This program is designed for owners who are happy with their dog and want help fixing an issue.

Good Dog

This program covers the basics. At the end of this program, your dog should sit, stay, come and walk next to you on a leash without pulling. My Good Dog program is the foundation to advancing with your dog. Includes up to 4 lessons at your home.

My Dog Is Better Than Your Dog

At the end of this program, your dog should be able to walk next to you off-leash, recall off-leash, know yard and home boundaries, stay at an open door or gate, and go to a place or crate and remain. This program includes the Good Dog Program and remote control collar. Up to 6 lessons at your home.

Trouble Maker

Your dog will stop table surfing, barking, digging, jumping and will drop/leave items on command. I cover housebreaking and address anxiety, dog aggression, biting, resource guarding and any other issues you may have with your dog. Includes the Good Dog Program and remote control collar.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dog Training

My dog won’t come when I call her. Is that something you can fix?

The recall or getting your dog to come is in my opinion the most important thing we can teach a dog. It is often extremely frustrating trying to get a dog to come. My method of training recall has been proven to work with excellent results.

My dog growls and nips at me or my spouse if I try to sit next to him on the couch or bed. Can you teach him not to do that?

I consider that a form of resource guarding and it is an issue that I routinely fix for owners.

Do you have a payment plan?

I expect full payment prior to any training with the exception of the Board and Train program. I accept cash, charge, and Venmo.

Will I have homework to do after the in-home lessons?

Homework is essential if you want to advance with improving your dog’s behavior. There is only so much I can do in 1 hour per week. It is up to you to follow through with what I have taught you in the hour lesson. I ask my clients to train for 10 minutes per day to maintain and advance their dogs skills.
